Britain’s growing rail industry is an essential part of the country’s economy. In June 2015, Claire Perry MP spoke about government plans to invest in British infrastructure. In her speech, she confirmed the government’s commitment to invest £70billion in transport over the next 5 years. As part of those plans, the rail sector features prominently. It is an exciting time to be a rail infrastructure professional.

Primat has provided specialist rail recruitment, payroll and  contractor assurance services for over 40 years. We have  extensive experience in supplying blue and white collar  candidates to clients, on a permanent and temporary basis, in  various locations  across the UK.

We believe that nothing is so important that it cannot be done  safely. Our dedicated HSEQ team ensure that we operate in a  safe and compliant manner whether it is in our daily internal  processes or in our interactions with clients. We are proud to be ISO 9001, ISO 18001 and RISQS accredited.

The team are highly  experienced and possess a wealth of sector knowledge,  meaning clients can be assured of a service where safety and  compliance come first.

Our rail recruitment division is a significant part of our business, accounting for around 1/6th of Primat’s total placements over 2015. Recently, we have been pleased to offer our candidates opportunities on projects, including: North/South Wales journey reduction, Oxford freight train lengthening, Swindon to Kemble railway line redoubling, Taff Rhondda turn back Scheme, Eastleigh freight train lengthening, and Crossrail Pudding Mill Lane.

We have supplied candidates in the following disciplines:

  • PTS Trades and Labour
  • Project Controls
  • Commercial and Administrative staff
  • Construction and Civils labour
  • Safety Critical
  • Site support staff

Our Rail business continues to grow in 2016, and we are pleased to be working with new customers in the sector. To support our client requirements throughout the year, we are always looking to speak with track experienced candidates.

What do our clients say?

‘Primat have provided us with an attentive and responsive service during the lifetime of a challenging project, with workforce peaks, troughs and short-notice adjustments. By attending regularly on site, Primat representative Andy Eaton gave us one point of contact and ensured needs were fully understood and planned ahead, with maximum ease on behalf of us, the client. Project specific improvements to the efficiency and quality of service were always sought, implemented and built upon. Overall their support has been of huge help to releasing our construction team to focus on construction, knowing our primary labour provider will lead the sourcing of resources to suit.’
